City Reports Sewer Overflow

BALTIMORE, MD (May 29, 2013) – The
Department of Public Works today announced that a sanitary sewer
overflow into the Jones Falls has been stopped. It was caused by buildup
of grease in a sewer main in the 4700 block of Falls Road.

overflow was first reported on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 6:59 PM. It was
stopped, through the use a pressure jet, at 9:30 A.M. the next day.

The overflow into the Jones Falls is estimated at approximately 21,775 gallons.
The
Maryland Department of the Environment and the Baltimore City Health
Department have been notified and the stream has been posted. For more
