BALTIMORE, MD (February 14, 2014) – Acting Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds everyone of schedule changes due to the recent snowfall and upcoming holiday.

Saturday, February 15, 2014: make-up collection of recyclables and trash for those whose scheduled collection day was Thursday, February 13.

Monday, February 17, 2014: make-up collection of recyclables and trash for those whose scheduled collection day was Friday, February 14.

Missed bulk trash collection on February 13 and 14 must be rescheduled by calling 311 or by making an on-line service request at www.baltimorecity.gov.

Mechanical street sweeping is suspended for now due to the snow along the curbs.

Monday, February 17, 2014 is President's Day, a City holiday. Department of Public Works’ offices and yards will be CLOSED.  Citizen drop-off centers WILL BE CLOSED (all yards, including Quarantine Road Landfill, the Northwest Transfer Station and the Eastern, Western and Northwest Collections Facilities).  Parking meters WILL be in effect.

Hydrants: While digging out, many fire hydrants were buried in the snow. Please make sure the hydrant closest to your home or business is clear of snow and visible for our emergency responders.

Storm Inlets: Temperatures will be warming over the next few days and all that snowmelt will need someplace to go. Please make sure that the storm drain closest to your property is not blocked with snow and ice.
