WHAT: Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will kick off the “Mayor’s Fall Cleanup” at the Adopt-a-Lot located at 1500 McKean Street in the Matthew A. Henson Neighborhood (MAHNA) of West Baltimore.

WHO: Baltimore City Department of Public Works Deputy Director S. Dale Thompson will join the Mayor along with the president and residents of the Matthew A. Henson Neighborhood Association, the Departments of Recreation and Parks, Transportation, and Housing, Clean Corps Baltimore, and other City officials.

WHEN: Saturday, October 22, 2016, 9:00 a.m.

WHERE: 1500 McKean Avenue, an Adopt-a-Lot in the Matthew A. Henson community/Easterwood in West Baltimore.  The lot is located between Baker and Presstman Streets.

The Mayor will be joined by residents and community leaders to kick off a day of cleaning on Saturday.  Tree Baltimore will be on-hand to provide a limited number of trees to residents.  Clean Corps will sign up block captains on that day. Residents from nearly 200 locations are already registered and ready to clean in neighborhoods all across Baltimore.  This is one of the largest number of registered locations seen since the early 2000’s. 

All Baltimore City residents are invited come out with their brooms in hand to join in ridding their neighborhoods of trash, litter, and falling or soon-to-be falling leaves on this day. The Mayor’s annual Fall Cleanup provides a perfect opportunity for neighbors to come together and also to sweep their communities clean. Participation in an organized cleanup also provides residents an opportunity to earn credits against their Stormwater Fee. DPW has provided bags, and assigned roll offs to registrants.  Trucks and crews will pick up debris and assist neighbors in their cleaning efforts.
