May 7, 2014 (BALTIMORE, MD) — Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., today reminds Baltimoreans that the Bureau of Solid Waste, Office of Recycling, will provide free document shredding this Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event will be held at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute’s parking lot, 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane.

This is an opportunity for Baltimore City residents and businesses, to safely dispose of sensitive paper documents quickly, easily, and securely. Cancelled checks, medical records, credit card information, utility bills, old tax returns, and pay stubs are among the many items that should be destroyed by shredding. Citizens can even bring their old high school prom photos that should have never seen the light of day.

Attendees must bring a driver’s license or proof of residency, and are allowed to bring up to two trash bags of documents. A representative from Cintas Document Management will be on hand to ensure that your sensitive materials are shredded completely.
